Brookwood Pharmaceuticals acquires the polymer business of Alkermes, Inc.

Polymer manufacturing will be carried out by Lakeshore Biomaterials, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Brookwood Pharmaceuticals.

Beginning January 2005, Lakeshore will supply lactide/glycolide polymers to new customers, support Alkermes’ external polymer customers’ long-term requirements and will be a back up supplier for Alkermes’ internal polymer requirements. Alkermes and Lakeshore Biomaterials are committed to produce a seamless transition of the polymer business, with the quality and service you’ve come to expect from the Alkermes Medisorb® polymer business.
